Imagine

A poem by Achuthan Panikath

Imagine a world- a delight to see,
A world not bought, but which is sought.
Imagine your dreams- a reality-
Literally penniless; thereby painless.
Imagine a world where exists no race;
Where we’d give to live, to live to give;
Imagine a world with no bric-a-brac’s haze,
Where beauty is savored as heart’s favored.
Imagine a time, when none need keep time,
A day when we’d stand and stare all we may.
Imagine a time, when only people are ‘mine’;
When we’d play for fun- not to peaks we run.
Imagine a day when Fear is afraid,
To come out at night due to people’s might;
With no religion, country or race for aid,
He’s sure to run, against a world of one.
Imagine, if all the dreamers came,
Past color and faith- in hope and mirth;
Imagine if imaginations became,
More than dreams that stun- when the world is one.
