Lady Love
A poem by Achuthan Panikath

Blink; Shut the night,
The light has shown you tonight,
A fair lady you art,
Clad in thy crimson gown,
You seem a delight; a vision
To abandon leisure and sojourn.
You my fair lady, crafting a memory,
Igniting joy in the depths of misery
Journeying ebbs and the twists of Montgomery.
You brew in us, myself and thy slaves, who believed
That thou were naïve and did more than need
A portion that rendered a broken heart, healed.
Many know you as Madam Love,
A girl who looked as sweet as dove.
But I see you as Lady Life,
A dove turned lady, whose heart is nice.
Be you Love, or be you Life,
Thy slave forever I now reside,
Nay a slave, thy equal I implore,
Never hast thou left me to explore.
