Homecoming
A poem by Achuthan Panikath
Tue Mar 10 2026
Hold on to this light of dawn
That melted walls and painted smiles.
Last night was real, the dark and the stars;
Bliss is built on dreams and fears.
When symbols dole out shards to the heart,
and friends smile in guise, once lost to spite --
Bask and wake with the rising streaks
Bouncing off memories, dusting off old dreams;
Healing with a mother’s touch, a father’s word
As once you were, you are again.
They may hurl rocks at your feet
Seal your fate in the pits
Feed you pity and pluck glee from your soul;
As sure as each dawn leaves a crack in the stones
Water will never betray your roots.
For as long as you hold true to your love
Oceans part to bring you home.
